00:00Okay, any modification to the agenda?

00:09Oh, I'm Haley Pepper corn.

00:18If you guys is new ag teacher, I would formally met like any of you.

00:22So I just figured I'd come and like introduced myself.

00:26I'm planning on applying for a bunch of really cool grants to enhance the program over the next couple of years.

00:33So you guys might be seeing me quite a bit more for some advice on what I should be spending that money on with these grants and how to really write those grants nicely.

00:44After the meeting, if you guys would like, I would love to show you the shop in the classroom and kind of show off what the custodial staff has spent the majority of their summer doing in there and myself as well.

00:57Thank you.

00:58Well, it's all free.

01:0310 minutes.

01:08July 16.

01:12Second.

01:14Any discussion.

01:18Oh, there.

01:19Hi.

01:21So now we are going to close the meeting, but you can stay at one point for the week.

01:27We're actually going to take you to it.

01:36Okay, I'm sure to speak tonight, I just want to talk to you about the 2024 accreditation

02:00and then we kind of finished up this summer. Okay, so it's all new revamped, came from

02:07the Board of Ed and OPI. This was surveys we did, that community meetings, gathering

02:16data on how our kids are performing, and it's put into this big, semi-big, I don't even

02:26know what you can call it, report that we sent it to OPI. So our elementary received

02:33regular, which is great, fine, our junior high also received regular, but our high school

02:39received advice. And from what I can see, and I've talked to OPI that you need to actually

02:46email me back, I think that the perception is like, oh, kids aren't learning anything,

02:53that's not what we got advice on. It isn't anything really with our student success.

02:58Our ACT scores are two points above the average. Everything's fine right there. It was ultimately

03:05came down, which we'll have to fix for next year. We thought they made a mistake, and

03:10the email I got back, we could kind of challenge that. They didn't make a mistake. We just have

03:17to basically clarify and put timelines in on our college and career readiness. That

03:27was one of the things that we just need to add dates and times and have more evidence

03:32that our kids are prepared to maybe score a school. And the other big one was basically

03:38our Indian Ed for all. We just have to do a better job showing that we're incorporating

03:43that throughout our school and in our high school and how we're doing it. So it was those

03:50two that really put us in the advice. It's not the worst. Efficiency is the worst. We

03:56have no crazy report. We just have to gather more things for next year and submit. The

04:02frustrating thing was, when we submitted, we could never even see. So we didn't even

04:06know what we filled on, but they did send that to me today. So at least we can see what

04:11we submitted, fix it. They gave us some criteria of things we did really well in the areas

04:18or areas that we need to improve and we'll take their advice and get that done for next

04:22year. So that's kind of the big one. If you have any questions, let me know. But I think

04:27that's the perception. It's not student achievement success in here. They're doing fine in that

04:33realm. They just have to preview our report. The only other real thing, I feel like I just

04:42saw you guys, but the only other real thing is Katelyn and I went back to an active shooter

04:47tabletop the board patrol put on. We did this a couple of years ago. And I wrote down, you

04:55know, there's just three real takeaways. So how it works is they sit there and it's just

05:01an exercise. They put it on the screen at 9.10. The shooting occurred at Scopey schools.

05:07And this is a situation by 9.45 and it sees to end. So it walks you from the start to

05:14the finish, repercussions. It gets everyone thinking on the same page from EMT to fire

05:19department to what their role is to come in and then what's the effect of trauma and how

05:25we handle that. It's an exercise. But I think we talked about one of the big worries, counter

05:34from everyone. And it's like a good but could be a really bad problem. And we're going to

05:42work with the court patrol and the sheriff's and we're probably going to try to put a tabletop

05:48on for our parents in this community. And the reason why is their biggest worry is that

05:55with cell phones, while they're getting ready to come here, if that situation ever happened,

06:00we're going to have parents in the building with firearms. And by that time, they don't know who

06:05to identify. So I think getting the community involved in hearing them know we are taking it

06:15serious and they're strategizing and they've been in here and walking our building, but give them

06:22a role. So they're not a detriment. Like we talked about be great if they set up a perimeter to

06:27make sure everyone's okay or you know, to close streets out. Because when you look at that with

06:32them, and all the alleys and streets that come to this school with all the entrance and exits,

06:39like it's it's a nightmare situation. So that was one of my big takeaways. And we're going to

06:47work on that. We're probably are talking with Mr. Nelson up there, we're going to try to hit that

06:54window between football and basketball to put this on. And like we said, the town is there too.

07:01But as we said, there might be ideas from the community that we never even thought of within

07:07our round table. That can be really good. But I think, I think as hard as it is to think about

07:12that it could happen, could happen. One, we need to realize that here. And two, if you're the parent

07:20that wants to go in and do that, you may get shot and not see your kid at the end of the day. So,

07:27just stay informed. And then, you know, something with our PR, we'll bring up and talk with the

07:36staff. You know, we discussed a lot, like, well, let's check when everyone should go to the Luther

07:43Church. And I'm like, huh, the east side, so you want the shooters going this way, you want us to

07:49run around the shooter to go back to Luther Church. That makes no sense. There's two shooters,

07:54you look at all this stuff. You don't want one in scenarios to pull the fire alarm. And the other

08:00person knows where everyone goes out. So, our plan right now is basically after when we went to

08:07our FEMA training is, you know, we're going to run high fight type thing, get out of the building if

08:12we can. And then we're scattering. But the second part of that, I think we need to buckle down a

08:19little bit is, okay, when it's over, how do we account for all our kids that's overdoing. So,

08:26check in points. And there's good ideas. They've done it in the past where they, like, put stickers

08:32on people's houses or something that kids know that's a safe place in case of emergency, you could

08:37go there, even if they're home or not, like a safe house or building to be at. And then, what's my

08:44third one? And then, you know, we kind of brought it up to as bad as it would be. The after effect,

08:53I can't even have them. Like I said in that meeting, I truly believe in any small community,

09:01that any part of this nation would just completely tear the fiber. But then you go back, at some

09:09point, we got to go back to school. And how do you do that? So, we're going to look into more

09:16information with organizations. And it's something we hope never happens, but it does, at least

09:23there's something on a process. So, that's how we can do it. So, those are really the only two

09:31things. I did get a hold of the field brothers today, or yesterday, or Sydney, they're working on

09:38is getting us a quote, Ernie Ruff. So, we kind of know that dollar amount with our building reserve,

09:47or potentially running a mill levy, what we should be looking at, how much we should be asking for.

09:52And I think that's a piece that really, that's a dollar amount, I think you guys really need to

09:57know. So, they're working on that, hopefully they're giving me a call, and I'll be able to have some

10:02information for you to see. So, something I got, excuse me.

10:10I do have a report, it's on the agenda. Cool, you didn't think I had to have a report, but

10:22I should, I almost go throw something out. Hayley just went to Texas to an awesome training. I don't

10:26know if you guys know. That's pretty cool. She got us 24. 27. 27 engines for free, and it's just

10:37$300 shipping. So, program through Honda, right? So, pretty cool. So, I think those are the benefits

10:45you're going to see from her going, please. And a lot of Lincoln Electric connections.

10:51Nice. A little sentence here to throw that out.

10:57All right, I really don't have a lot on my computer, so I'm going back to work for a week,

11:00but it's not going to happen that week. So, our future starts on Friday. We have PR Friday and

11:06Monday. I have CPR classes lined up for Friday to get everyone to spend two years, so we're

11:12going to recertify them on Bobby Joe. Actually, Sean approached Bobby Joe, and then it all

11:17worked out there. You're going to have to do the bus driver or some stuff, too. Yeah, we're going to

11:21do that close in September. Yeah, we have so many. They can only do 12 to 13 first sessions, so

11:28well, I have that scheduled what they're going to do, and then the 19th will do, you know,

11:33during level meetings, specific trainings, whole staff, all the fun beginning of the year stuff

11:38that we tell them, like, this will be the fifth time I've already talked about it.

11:43Student class registration. So, with Mrs. Rasker doing something a little different,

11:46we didn't do it at the end of the school year. We're actually starting tomorrow and Wednesday,

11:51so, like, the seniors will come in. They have an hour block where they get to come in, pick the

11:55classes, and then so forth, and then 7th and 8th will be Wednesday, and then any kid sits.

12:02We're working with kids who are gone. Understandably, that happens. That will help us to, like,

12:08some of our classes that have a cap on them. Like, it's huge by seniority. It's just kind of the

12:12way it goes in high school, and so that'll help with that. Mrs. Rasker and Lenny wouldn't

12:17really liked how it worked, so I said, well, we're open to ideas, so that's what we're doing.

12:23CPR classes, the coaches and the drivers, they'll do it September 14th, and I'm going to communicate

12:28with them to make sure they're all on that and get that done, because with the new,

12:33is that new, where the drivers have to all have that CPR certification.

12:37And then FCCLA and JMG, I've been bringing this up because I've had, like, the state JMG

12:45gentleman approach me. With Connie Leading, we don't have an advisor for either of those.

12:51I'm going to bring it up if anyone's interested at PIR, but I'm also not really comfortable

12:56forcing someone to do something they don't want to do. JMG only had three last year, so,

13:02and that'll also be another thing. We'll see if the kids are really gung-ho about it or not

13:08before we go forward. So, if you do hear, I know someone from the state of FCCLA reached out for

13:14Rayleigh, because she had done that previously, but she came to me and said, didn't make me do this,

13:19are you? I didn't know about it. I said, I'm not going to force you, but I'm holding that.

13:22Too late. Too late, you're already talking. Yeah, I'm going to write over JMG and FCCLA, and

13:26she's going to write choice words for me, but that will be, we'll see if anyone's interested

13:33and can open it up. And then first day of school, next Tuesday, picture day is the 28th,

13:38and then homecoming is September 3rd, 2016. I'll be a busy first three weeks.

13:43Thank you.

13:48Voluntary claims.

13:56I move to approve claims numbered $19,191 to $19,223 dated the 13th of July,

14:0624th to August 8th in the amount of $115,362.00. Second.

14:14For the motion and the second, we have a discussion. What's all the backpacks?

14:21So, yeah, we bought that. We, our fund 29 to 29 is basically for teacher retention teacher

14:29back to the teachers. So, we try to come up with, we did a bag one year and there was

14:37we did coat, we kind of did different things. And one of the other ladies at

14:40Maslow said, who bought the backpacks? So, we're giving all staff backpacks. Everybody,

14:45everybody, the entire staff of scope school is giving the backpacks. So, and then we're

14:49having moonlight laser put below them. And then a little, moonlight laser works is putting a

14:59patch on them and their names in the start and end. So, it's just kind of a, please

15:03thank you guys for being here. It's great.

15:09Any more discussion?

15:17All in favor?

15:18All right.

15:21Activity accounts.

15:23I'd like to approve, but so moved to approve. Second.

15:29The motion and second to the discussion.

15:34All in favor?

15:34All right.

15:35All right.

15:36Five.

15:38Moving on to action items.

15:44Student appeal.

15:47At this post session.

15:52So, there is no motion on this.

16:08We will move on to action item B.

16:16Action item B, board policy updates.

16:18Second reading, this is important.

16:20Great. I will move to approve the second reading of the attached board policy.

16:33I let them over again today.

16:36And that's an extraordinary.

16:38I'll sign it.

16:39The motion and second.

16:41Any more discussion?

16:42Next one.

16:49C, board policy update by 228 F1.

16:55You want to test, too?

17:04I approve the, excuse me.

17:06I move to approve the second reading of the policies.

17:08Five, two, two, eight, B1, five, two, two, one F1,

17:12five, two, two, eight, F2 as presented.

17:16Second.

17:17Motion and second.

17:19Any discussion on this?

17:21What is the consequence of these guys not jumping through all these weeks?

17:27If they get caught, and okay, let's say,

17:29so what they're going to do is once you jump it,

17:31once you have a CDL and you're a bus driver and you get thrown in this clearing house,

17:35they will randomly call Mr. Hardy and say,

17:38you need to have call your address, let's emery the route driver.

17:41You need to go have her drug test.

17:43And she has to show, I have to show up within an hour.

17:46If I don't, they can try to school on the driver to send out the dollars.

17:49So they can find it right there.

17:51If you are in an accident and you're in a drug test,

17:54they don't immediately have to be tested.

17:56So it's kind of one of these.

18:00It might be time to get some of our drivers here in an hour.

18:04Yeah.

18:05It's, I mean, chaps could be in Sydney with cattle.

18:09It's tough to get people to want to drive.

18:12I mean, we should toss some extra stuff on them to roll in line.

18:17Well, they will.

18:17They are.

18:18They are.

18:18They are number one.

18:19That's endorsement.

18:23But yeah, I've got one of our bus drivers.

18:25What if they're on an activity trip?

18:28Is it a five hour or maybe they're going to be cowards or what?

18:31They could be in buildings with kids.

18:34In drug testing buildings.

18:35Yeah, that would be awesome.

18:36You don't have to come here to that.

18:38But you've got to load a bus, load a kid somewhere,

18:41and you're going to have to go run them over to the clinic.

18:44I mean that.

18:45And right now, that basically applies to our just our route drivers.

18:50They have that.

18:51They have got a CDL to even get put in the carrying house.

18:53So Mr. Hardy drives somebody to golf.

18:55He doesn't even, he doesn't even, he doesn't even interact with them.

18:59I guess there's nothing to do about it when there's a gun to your head, so.

19:06So, any more discussion on that?

19:11All in favor?

19:11Aye.

19:12Aye.

19:17Action item B.

19:20Superintendent Dodd.

19:25I move to approve second reading of board policy.

19:28Number 7320, urgency as presented.

19:34Second.

19:35Motion.

19:38Is there any discussion?

19:46Just don't do it.

19:46I didn't do it.

19:47I don't want to go by it anymore.

19:48It's just that I can buy some tits.

19:55No, I just plan on, it would be.

19:58I'm still planning on bringing everything to you.

20:00It'd just be like, I don't know, showing in his parts.

20:03Like, we gotta get something fixed on us or whatever they go down.

20:13Any more discussion on that?

20:17All in favor?

20:18Aye.

20:21Moving on to updates.

20:24To them, it's partner standard.

20:25Yes, this comes from last year.

20:27If you remember, we talked about it.

20:28This became kind of an ordeal.

20:30OPIME wants to come to our dances.

20:33We talked about it as a board.

20:35We said co-ops that basically co-ops with us,

20:38that they can come as long as they have staff that work to chaperone.

20:43I would encourage you to tip this money to,

20:46for someone to discuss that cost money.

20:47I know the OPIME people that we'd be happy to,

20:51if you need extra money for a junior high dance,

20:54you need somebody to purchase the soft drinks or something.

20:58They wouldn't throw in money.

21:03We have a motion to approve this.

21:05And then you're also changing that to aid.

21:07Yep, it's just because the creators can participate in high school sports now.

21:11That's it.

21:12I'd move to approve the recommended changes to the standards.

21:15We're putting forward 20 large school years presented.

21:18You know, I'm excited about that.

21:19I have a motion on second.

21:21If you have any discussion.

21:23Thank you, Jesus.

21:28Thank you for the co-op discussion.

21:29All in favor?

21:30Aye.

21:31Aye.

21:31Aye.

21:36All right.

21:38We're just a vote.

21:40Oh, I hope you have your ideas.

21:43I hope you're smart, please.

21:45Well, each of us shows more convention.

21:48But we're going to change.

21:49Thank you.

21:50Oh, well, trust me.

21:52I never said that.

21:53And I think I have F on that.

21:54Yeah, I love that.

21:55So I would like to go over a letter from you today.

21:57Sorry.

21:57No, no, no, no, no.

21:58I never used an online mart to order a book.

22:00It was our last year.

22:02I just thought it was a good book.

22:03I move to approve the quote for smart technologies

22:05the amount of $4,213 for the purchase of the smart board as presented last week.

22:11I have a motion to second.

22:14Why am I missing something on the quote?

22:18It says $8,298.

22:20We approved one.

22:22You guys approved the last one for Haley.

22:24Nice.

22:24So it's another one.

22:25It's just an additional one.

22:27So the actual quote, she just got me the quote,

22:29eight grand for the two of us.

22:30Look, we fell into that special.

22:33Understood.

22:36This thing's supposed to be amazing.

22:38The smart board.

22:39So you all know better.

22:42Not really.

22:45No, I have this.

22:48How do you use one?

22:50I use one in Bainville when I was student teaching

22:53and it does like everything.

22:56But my classroom has no technology in there

23:00and it's hard to teach classes with no technology

23:05in the day of age that we live in.

23:07And I'm 23 and I don't believe in book work

23:10because why are you going to take a class for fun with book work?

23:15You're not.

23:16But yeah, they're pretty great.

23:18You can do a lot of hands-on interactive stuff

23:20with your kids on them.

23:22I didn't know they were eight grand though.

23:24Oh, four.

23:26That's two of them.

23:27Oh, it's okay.

23:29They're about the price of my toolbox then.

23:33They were actually cheaper.

23:36They're cheaper than they were 20 years ago.

23:40Because I had one in my, you know,

23:42cost more than $4,000.

23:44Well, the technology was new then.

23:46That's true.

23:48Any more discussion on this one?

23:50Did we have a motion in a second?

23:51Yeah.

23:52Any more discussion?

23:55Oh, they were.

23:55Hi, my colleague.

24:00Oh, we are moving on to the workbench for the shot.

24:06We'll approve the code from Home Depot

24:08and the amount of $4,000 under $82.07

24:10for the gear range toolbox and workbench as presented.

24:15Okay.

24:16We have a motion in a second.

24:18Do we have any discussion?

24:19I just wanted to note that

24:22so when we did get a teacher to hire to the program,

24:27we knew that needed tools and stuff.

24:28I just called Scott West,

24:30went up on the phone and said,

24:32if you didn't say, Scott, do you have any possible grants

24:35or anything like that that you could,

24:37that would go to school?

24:38He says, well, it's good timing

24:40because Edison Lake just did the same kind of a thing

24:42the other day and we bought him a whole bunch of stuff.

24:44He says, make me a list.

24:46So I just made him the list of stuff

24:48and a couple of days later, I checked home.

24:50So maybe when you get that,

24:52get either Scott or Josh to come over and hit a picture.

24:56So they cover the phone though?

25:00That's great.

25:01And some really nice screwdrivers and pliers,

25:05gear wrenches like snap on, but not expensive.

25:13Any more discussion?

25:14So, Paul Pepper?

25:18Hi.

25:22Moving on to a walk behind Forest Rubber.

25:32I moved to approve the vote

25:33and bought case supply.

25:34It came out of $4,769.

25:36It's $75 cents per person to walk behind Forest Rubber

25:38as presented.

25:39Okay, we have a motion and a second to be having a discussion.

25:47Is that the deal that they use on the gym floor?

25:49No, this is a small one for classrooms.

25:51Oh, okay.

25:52So we got one for the high school,

25:53that's the second with them getting their floor down.

25:56So there's two involved locations.

26:01Can I use them on the gym floor?

26:03You wouldn't want to

26:04because they're only three and a half gallon.

26:05We got the big ride or the gym floor.

26:07Only the other one he does on the house.

26:09Yeah, he does on the gym floor.

26:10Yes.

26:13It's what the house does.

26:14Yep.

26:15Quad K takes care of you pretty good.

26:17Yep.

26:20Any more discussion?

26:23Paul Pepper?

26:24Hi.

26:25Hi.

26:30Moving on to contract payment services for $24.25.

26:35I moved to contact Erica Regi for cleaning services for the $24.25 school year.

26:45Second.

26:47Motion and a second.

26:48Do we have any discussion?

26:51We're just dealing for pay owners and independent contractors.

26:55Yep.

26:55She's come in and she's got all the elementary bathrooms.

26:59To be honest, we're going to maybe phase her out,

27:02but I don't know if you've heard about Darryl.

27:04He just had surgery, so he's going to be out for six weeks now.

27:08Poor worker's cop.

27:09So I talked to Erica.

27:11She's going to see it again, so it'll help out.

27:14And she does a lot of the job.

27:16

27:16I mean, she's got two hours a day.

27:21I've heard she's really good.

27:22I'm just curious why our custodians can keep up.

27:28Can we deduct this out of their pay?

27:34If we have to hire somebody else to come in and do the cleaning lesson, that's their job.

27:38You are correct.

27:46Any more discussion?

27:50Volunteer.

27:51Hi.

27:51Next one.

28:04Personal recommendations.

28:07I'm going to include 10 if I don't have a substitute list for the 24 or 25 school year.

28:13Second.

28:15Motion in a second to starting discussion.

28:18Is anyone going to answer?

28:24Well, we will.

28:27That should be it.

28:27There can be flat ground.

28:30Well, she's already been in this.

28:36No more discussion.

28:38All right.

28:43Next one.

28:44We'll be bus drivers.

28:48I move to hire Garrett back.

28:49When Andrew Herschel a substitute route and activity bus driver for 24 to 25.

28:56I second that.

28:58Motion in a second.

29:00We have any discussion?

29:03I notice we gave her the background check.

29:05And fingerprinting for tons of app.

29:10Does that apply to drug alcohol and CPR tests and classes as well?

29:14Or is that on their dime?

29:16No, we've done that in the past.

29:17We do.

29:18Yep.

29:18And we came for the CDLs for the bus drivers too.

29:20For the other physical field.

29:22True.

29:25So they're these two can only take care of top on route yet?

29:30Correct.

29:31Correct.

29:31Yep.

29:32Unless they're in an expedition.

29:33Yep.

29:36No yellow bus.

29:38Are they planning on trying to get there?

29:39I don't know.

29:41I think we're just hoping that we had some interest.

29:44And we're just like if we get one out of four, that's better.

29:47Then if I wanted to get three or four, I would just make one yellow bus trip to Glasgow too.

29:53Yeah.

29:58More discussion on this?

30:01All in favor?

30:02Aye.

30:02Aye.

30:05All right.

30:06Now we have a room.

30:09Activity director.

30:11I would move to hire Lucas Knight as the Activity Director for the 24-25 school.

30:21Second.

30:22We have a motion and a second.

30:23We have a discussion.

30:24I really hope you hired him because I introduced him tonight to all of the...

30:28No, I reached out to him after about 40 other phone calls and now I'm losing him.

30:43You say what?

30:44We're final on a lot of stuff on a new guy.

30:48But he's young and ambitious, hopefully.

30:50Waited for the last second to ask him.

30:53He's very excited.

30:55Yep.

30:55I visited with him for a good chunk of time today instead of just arguing.

30:59I mean, he's very excited.

31:02I know as the AD, you have to work for administration.

31:05Somebody has to go to all the activities and I know there's a lot to it.

31:09But like, this guy's already made it correct, right?

31:12Yes.

31:14So he doesn't...

31:15Who does that?

31:17Larry did it last year.

31:18That's like either on top of it, you're like always too seeming to hit.

31:23So his first thing will be he'll go to an MI AAA meeting here about a month or something,

31:30which is the AD organization at what point and they'll schedule like track

31:34all and then start talking about next season.

31:39And really your football and your basketball schedules are basically set by the state.

31:46So they say you're going to play these teams on this week.

31:50And then the AD's got to go to those schools and those meetings and pick every play on Friday,

31:54Saturday and what time.

31:58The hardest thing for him, I think, and the frustration of any AD, which I was honest with him,

32:03is it's always schedule changes.

32:05Yeah.

32:05And you know that, right?

32:06Everyone's got a JV or junior high to start, but then three weeks in and it gets failing

32:10or hurts and all of a sudden everything changes.

32:13That and finding workers to help.

32:16So making sure the rest are here.

32:20And make this job work for him.

32:22I know it's all on him, but it could be an activity driver.

32:29Well, I know I talked to Connie the other day and she said she wouldn't mind being kept on

32:34as an activity driver when she's available.

32:41If that comes up.

32:42I need more discussion on the red.

32:52Hi.

32:53Hi.

32:54Glad you're mental support.

32:58I want to ask was if Mr. Hardy.

33:07Last one would be activity drivers.

33:09I got a bill on him for you guys.

33:14Junior high football.

33:15I'd like to give him some energy and I'll not help.

33:19And then I plan is I'll go in and the first two or three years of practice help me to go in and then I'll phase out.

33:27So let's go to the tournament on board with that.

33:30Yeah, I think that would be it.

33:32I would move to approve.

33:36Gerald and Otto Virginia high football and Kristen and Kylie Virginia high volleyball 24 ball sports seasons.

33:45I will second that.

33:49Motion and a second to the other discussion.

33:57All different.

33:58Hi.

33:59Hi.

33:59Hi.

34:02Now for activity drivers.

34:05I'd move to approve the list of activity drivers for the 24-25 school year.

34:15I've got a motion and a second.

34:19Any discussion?

34:29All in favor.

34:30Hi.

34:31Hi.

34:31Hi.

34:36Okay.

34:38I did your budget books.

34:39I apologize that I didn't get up to you guys sooner.

34:41I probably did put tabs so if you don't have to dig around to where you're getting to go.

34:47We met on last Thursday morning and kind of went through the line of budget.

34:52We went to the OPCAD budget.

34:57Highlights, I guess at this point.

34:58The big thing is by doing the line of budget, I had to earmark somebody.

35:05So I had to earmark one in case we could get a homemade teacher.

35:07I did have to have a budget for everybody to add insurance.

35:10I did budget for a pair of professionals.

35:12We hope we're going to get.

35:13I did budget another cook.

35:15So there's a little bit of slush fun in there that we didn't plan on, but we have to plan for.

35:22Ideally, if going forward, if we do set money that we switch the internet over, we wouldn't say.

35:27It would be nice to earmark that for the roof, just in case the leader does a pass.

35:32Worst case scenario, but didn't pass.

35:34We would have that integral point that we could earmark for that.

35:37So it heads up that it may be more than I thought it was going to be, but we have to plan for the worst.

35:43So, but the book is basically just give a little bit about the school.

35:48Our staff is young and old, I guess.

35:50We're kind of on the two end of the spectrum.

35:52Here is what it looks like.

35:55And once and wrong, we have a great staff.

35:59Kind of what everybody's making.

36:00We could do a little bit of a highlight of what people are making this year,

36:03as teachers and administrators and cooks and everybody else.

36:08Our enrollment is staying steady, but I think we got two more.

36:12So who knows where it's actually going to be when it's all said and done before school starts.

36:16We could end up with 10 more kids by the time it's all said and done.

36:19And we don't know.

36:20So, yeah.

36:22And then we got the school calendar.

36:23So we know exactly what we're going to do.

36:25We put a colorful one out there.

36:26So that everybody can kind of submit.

36:30Kind of how to be in the year and how much money to be spent.

36:32We ended up spending our budget down when we were able to transfer $115,000 from the

36:37general fund to the interlocal school this year.

36:41It was more than I planned on, but we ended up having staffing issues that changed,

36:47basically.

36:48And so we're still able to buy all of our supplies and finish out if you're strong,

36:52but then they'll literally need to transfer.

36:54So it's nice to have that extra bit of slush funding there right now.

36:58Kind of breaks down where our money was spent.

36:59How much money goes towards what?

37:01Obviously, it's going to spend just as huge as the whole parent formula.

37:05The most amount of money.

37:08When you look at the expenditure by type, teacher salaries are the biggest expenditure,

37:12but that's just because there's more of them.

37:14They have a bigger chunk of the money that they have there.

37:18There's more of the time to pay for it.

37:20And then I kind of did a recall or a review of the interlocal.

37:25And what did we spend our money on?

37:26A lot of it was spent on school supplies.

37:29So let's get some of the different supplies that we had planned on that we were able to spend on.

37:34And then the next thing is our fund summaries.

37:36I can be an explanation of what every single fund is.

37:40Every fund is budgeted, but only certain ones are having our required budget by OPI.

37:45So the ones that we've had budgeted are the ones from the top.

37:48One to 10, testification, best appreciation, tuition, retirement, adult end,

37:53technology, flexibility, debt service, and building.

37:56Those are the ones that we have to report.

37:59OPI has our budgeted funds, but we have an actual budget in the middle.

38:06The whole next section basically just tells you exactly what all these funds are and how we did,

38:10where our money was going, how things changed, why we maybe didn't spend as much as we should have.

38:14Could have, why don't you?

38:16I gave you guys one in a budget so you know where the money is coming down to on every single fund.

38:22And then the very end is what our OPI budget is.

38:27I'll spend a little bit of time on this one.

38:29And that is on page something or another.

38:34I think it's right after the meeting.

38:39So it's 216 and 216.

38:43So we sat down and our, our taxable value went down.

38:49So mills were more expensive.

38:51Each dollar is more expensive.

38:52It takes more than a lot of spending money.

38:55So our mills went, our mill value went down, our taxable value went down by 300,000 dollars.

39:04So our general fund, we went and voted and we were able to get 2,800,000 dollars.

39:10We kept our full reserves and a full 10% of years.

39:15So our mills were on 216.

39:20The general fund, you don't have to hold up.

39:22You just put in whatever you got and there we go.

39:26Transportation, we weren't really sure what to do with.

39:28I wasn't, I don't work budgeted last year.

39:32My manager did last year on our transportation.

39:34So our mills were higher.

39:36I cut some of the brush that we had put in there that were, I put way too much money in,

39:41let's say fuel.

39:42We didn't need that much for fuel.

39:43So we, we don't have to download it.

39:44It's a month working.

39:46So I had, when I first regenerated it, I regenerated it 341 mills.

39:51I've generated 31023 mills and we visited and decided just in case we do end up with another

39:58plus for ours.

39:59Workspace scenario, you can always do a section in this one.

40:02We told you not to, that $1,000 were in just in case.

40:05And then we'll just be repropriated next year.

40:11Transportation committee met in February or something like that.

40:15And they made the decision to 100% fully depreciate our buses again for this year.

40:19So we are front loading basically so that we can go again.

40:23There's some buses.

40:23Shawnee has to plan for a couple of buses and we need to replace.

40:27Yep.

40:28And they still driver is that plan and that just constantly in motion.

40:32Yep.

40:32Yeah.

40:33So we did, we did fully appreciate our buses.

40:36The nice thing about the bus appreciation fund is let's say we, we get too high.

40:40We have too much money in there.

40:41That way you can also be transferred.

40:42Some of that can be transferred into your local if you want to, too.

40:45And it won't, there's nothing to use to do that.

40:48Our tuition, we don't, we make too much money from the state for our special ed.

40:53So we, our tuition, when we ask for our tuition fund,

40:57if we call time for them, we don't.

40:59So I just, that's the cash balance in school year.

41:02So we're doing that.

41:02So we're going to do more of the tuition next year.

41:06We'll be the year that we may have to, if we have any kids that live in O'Pime

41:10and want to go to school, we have our kids who want to go to school somewhere else.

41:15So let's say we had five kids that have been born to go to school in one point,

41:18Poplar, Plainwood, whatever, then we would have to pay those schools

41:22for them to attend school, but we won't budget for that to next spring.

41:27Our retirement, it's just cents, built-in, thanks to Tammy.

41:30She taught some classes, so we had to build everybody spent.

41:34Technology, I added a full community this year just to build up our cash balance.

41:40Both the school house IT is $31,095.

41:42So between that, we only have 20,000 left to basically cover anything we may need.

41:47We are doing all of our computer programs, technology, for sure.

41:53Our flex fund, that's when we bought the Basque Act score.

41:56That one's just kind of a dumb fund.

41:58You can't budget for anything for it.

42:00You have the budget that you can't actually ask for money from the state

42:02or the county for anything at that point.

42:05So there's no meals on that one.

42:06Our building reserve, we asked for $100,000, which is our last year,

42:11our last $100,000 that we can ask for.

42:14We can also, we also get from the state, we qualify for $67,000 or a little,

42:19right around $60,000, $7,000.

42:21We, as a school, put in $25,000 and I'll put in $47,000.

42:24So it's the professional commission money, so we're able to put more into that one.

42:30And the last one is our debt service.

42:32And we are down to the last 12 years in our debt service.

42:36Thank goodness, sorry.

42:38So our total meals went down by nine meals, our overall meals.

42:43And I was kind of happy with that.

42:44I didn't realize that was going to happen, but we could do things.

42:47Our meals went down.

42:49Say as a tax payer somehow.

42:52Then we kind of did it.

42:53The budget and the expenditure by fund, how much were our breakdowns for our expenditure by fund.

43:00Part four is basically our 307 resolution that we had to do.

43:04How do we do, where are we at, our close, our free close on that.

43:08Our historical budget and meals, it shows that we've had up and down stuff and down

43:13steps now on our meals.

43:14So we just don't want to say the same tax for value.

43:16So it's kind of a little all over the place.

43:20Then we've got the historical budget report.

43:23So that's where we expect our meals for the last few years.

43:28And then the last part is basically just garbage.

43:32Some of the technologies or terminology and funds are what funds.

43:37And then some of the actors.

43:38So thank you.

43:44Thank you.

43:47This looks nice.

43:48Didn't let the family lay eyes on something.

43:50Just nothing.

43:51I have no idea.

43:51If we have any questions, let me know.

43:54This item.

43:54I don't know.

43:55And Kim, Kim and all over it.

44:02Rattle it off the top of your head.

44:03Yeah.

44:13Sweep it down.

44:14Yeah.

44:16Thanks.

44:16Cheers, Kylie.

44:17Good job.

44:18Thank you.

44:18Did you get to be one of the one?

44:20I don't know.

44:21I might be enough.

44:22I almost got a burp.

44:24It's not this, the heavier than that, right?

44:28This was Carson's first year of school.

44:30It's good rich.

44:32So, Kylie gave us a good summary.

44:36And it's like the lead to make the motion.

44:40Yeah.

44:41I moved to adopt the fiscal year 2024 budget

44:44and mills as presented and printed.

44:50I second.

44:52We have a motion and a second.

44:54Do we have a discussion?

44:55Can you explain the difference between the two

45:01sample motions as they appear?

45:03So, I don't have to reserve anything.

45:06So, basically, what the reserve, the second motion

45:09is basically saying that, yes, I'm going to reserve 10%.

45:12There's certain, I look at the OCAT budget,

45:15you're only allowed a certain portion.

45:17I'm not, you can reserve.

45:19Sure.

45:20And what my reserves are, basically,

45:21is my checking account from now until November.

45:24So, that's really what it was.

45:25I could put zero reserves and we could give everything

45:27back to the taxpayers.

45:28But then we're going to be in the negative

45:30until November when the taxes come in.

45:32Understood.

45:33So, I can do more.

45:34I can do less.

45:35It's just that you're allowing me to reserve a full 10%.

45:38And that's allowable.

45:40And that transportation, I can reserve 20,

45:42but we've never needed to.

45:43We don't have that new bills from now until November.

45:47And then the last one is, the retirement one

45:50is allowing me to do whatever reserve I need for that one.

45:52So.

45:53Understood.

45:54That's it.

45:57Motion and second.

45:58Any more discussion on that?

46:03All favor?

46:04Aye.

46:05

46:16That is?

46:18That is September 9th.

46:21Okay, for everyone.

46:23So, next.

46:37So, anything else during this meeting?

46:40September 9th works for me.

46:43The kids do the 10th.

46:45Do you want to explain last time?

46:47It's just a big question mark around all of September.

46:53You just say that.

47:00My dad didn't go to the hospital when I was born.

47:02He did this harvest the whole day at my aunt's.

47:07He didn't know I weren't killing animals for supper.

47:10Meeting is adjourned.

47:16Yes.
