Okay, any modification to the agenda?
Oh, I'm Haley Pepper corn.
If you guys is new ag teacher, I would formally met like any of you.
So I just figured I'd come and like introduced myself.
I'm planning on applying for a bunch of really cool grants to enhance the program over the next couple of years.
So you guys might be seeing me quite a bit more for some advice on what I should be spending that money on with these grants and how to really write those grants nicely.
After the meeting, if you guys would like, I would love to show you the shop in the classroom and kind of show off what the custodial staff has spent the majority of their summer doing in there and myself as well.
Thank you.
Well, it's all free.
10 minutes.
July 16.
Second.
Any discussion.
Oh, there.
Hi.
So now we are going to close the meeting, but you can stay at one point for the week.
We're actually going to take you to it.
Okay, I'm sure to speak tonight, I just want to talk to you about the 2024 accreditation
and then we kind of finished up this summer. Okay, so it's all new revamped, came from
the Board of Ed and OPI. This was surveys we did, that community meetings, gathering
data on how our kids are performing, and it's put into this big, semi-big, I don't even
know what you can call it, report that we sent it to OPI. So our elementary received
regular, which is great, fine, our junior high also received regular, but our high school
received advice. And from what I can see, and I've talked to OPI that you need to actually
email me back, I think that the perception is like, oh, kids aren't learning anything,
that's not what we got advice on. It isn't anything really with our student success.
Our ACT scores are two points above the average. Everything's fine right there. It was ultimately
came down, which we'll have to fix for next year. We thought they made a mistake, and
the email I got back, we could kind of challenge that. They didn't make a mistake. We just have
to basically clarify and put timelines in on our college and career readiness. That
was one of the things that we just need to add dates and times and have more evidence
that our kids are prepared to maybe score a school. And the other big one was basically
our Indian Ed for all. We just have to do a better job showing that we're incorporating
that throughout our school and in our high school and how we're doing it. So it was those
two that really put us in the advice. It's not the worst. Efficiency is the worst. We
have no crazy report. We just have to gather more things for next year and submit. The
frustrating thing was, when we submitted, we could never even see. So we didn't even
know what we filled on, but they did send that to me today. So at least we can see what
we submitted, fix it. They gave us some criteria of things we did really well in the areas
or areas that we need to improve and we'll take their advice and get that done for next
year. So that's kind of the big one. If you have any questions, let me know. But I think
that's the perception. It's not student achievement success in here. They're doing fine in that
realm. They just have to preview our report. The only other real thing, I feel like I just
saw you guys, but the only other real thing is Katelyn and I went back to an active shooter
tabletop the board patrol put on. We did this a couple of years ago. And I wrote down, you
know, there's just three real takeaways. So how it works is they sit there and it's just
an exercise. They put it on the screen at 9.10. The shooting occurred at Scopey schools.
And this is a situation by 9.45 and it sees to end. So it walks you from the start to
the finish, repercussions. It gets everyone thinking on the same page from EMT to fire
department to what their role is to come in and then what's the effect of trauma and how
we handle that. It's an exercise. But I think we talked about one of the big worries, counter
from everyone. And it's like a good but could be a really bad problem. And we're going to
work with the court patrol and the sheriff's and we're probably going to try to put a tabletop
on for our parents in this community. And the reason why is their biggest worry is that
with cell phones, while they're getting ready to come here, if that situation ever happened,
we're going to have parents in the building with firearms. And by that time, they don't know who
to identify. So I think getting the community involved in hearing them know we are taking it
serious and they're strategizing and they've been in here and walking our building, but give them
a role. So they're not a detriment. Like we talked about be great if they set up a perimeter to
make sure everyone's okay or you know, to close streets out. Because when you look at that with
them, and all the alleys and streets that come to this school with all the entrance and exits,
like it's it's a nightmare situation. So that was one of my big takeaways. And we're going to
work on that. We're probably are talking with Mr. Nelson up there, we're going to try to hit that
window between football and basketball to put this on. And like we said, the town is there too.
But as we said, there might be ideas from the community that we never even thought of within
our round table. That can be really good. But I think, I think as hard as it is to think about
that it could happen, could happen. One, we need to realize that here. And two, if you're the parent
that wants to go in and do that, you may get shot and not see your kid at the end of the day. So,
just stay informed. And then, you know, something with our PR, we'll bring up and talk with the
staff. You know, we discussed a lot, like, well, let's check when everyone should go to the Luther
Church. And I'm like, huh, the east side, so you want the shooters going this way, you want us to
run around the shooter to go back to Luther Church. That makes no sense. There's two shooters,
you look at all this stuff. You don't want one in scenarios to pull the fire alarm. And the other
person knows where everyone goes out. So, our plan right now is basically after when we went to
our FEMA training is, you know, we're going to run high fight type thing, get out of the building if
we can. And then we're scattering. But the second part of that, I think we need to buckle down a
little bit is, okay, when it's over, how do we account for all our kids that's overdoing. So,
check in points. And there's good ideas. They've done it in the past where they, like, put stickers
on people's houses or something that kids know that's a safe place in case of emergency, you could
go there, even if they're home or not, like a safe house or building to be at. And then, what's my
third one? And then, you know, we kind of brought it up to as bad as it would be. The after effect,
I can't even have them. Like I said in that meeting, I truly believe in any small community,
that any part of this nation would just completely tear the fiber. But then you go back, at some
point, we got to go back to school. And how do you do that? So, we're going to look into more
information with organizations. And it's something we hope never happens, but it does, at least
there's something on a process. So, that's how we can do it. So, those are really the only two
things. I did get a hold of the field brothers today, or yesterday, or Sydney, they're working on
is getting us a quote, Ernie Ruff. So, we kind of know that dollar amount with our building reserve,
or potentially running a mill levy, what we should be looking at, how much we should be asking for.
And I think that's a piece that really, that's a dollar amount, I think you guys really need to
know. So, they're working on that, hopefully they're giving me a call, and I'll be able to have some
information for you to see. So, something I got, excuse me.
I do have a report, it's on the agenda. Cool, you didn't think I had to have a report, but
I should, I almost go throw something out. Hayley just went to Texas to an awesome training. I don't
know if you guys know. That's pretty cool. She got us 24. 27. 27 engines for free, and it's just
$300 shipping. So, program through Honda, right? So, pretty cool. So, I think those are the benefits
you're going to see from her going, please. And a lot of Lincoln Electric connections.
Nice. A little sentence here to throw that out.
All right, I really don't have a lot on my computer, so I'm going back to work for a week,
but it's not going to happen that week. So, our future starts on Friday. We have PR Friday and
Monday. I have CPR classes lined up for Friday to get everyone to spend two years, so we're
going to recertify them on Bobby Joe. Actually, Sean approached Bobby Joe, and then it all
worked out there. You're going to have to do the bus driver or some stuff, too. Yeah, we're going to
do that close in September. Yeah, we have so many. They can only do 12 to 13 first sessions, so
well, I have that scheduled what they're going to do, and then the 19th will do, you know,
during level meetings, specific trainings, whole staff, all the fun beginning of the year stuff
that we tell them, like, this will be the fifth time I've already talked about it.
Student class registration. So, with Mrs. Rasker doing something a little different,
we didn't do it at the end of the school year. We're actually starting tomorrow and Wednesday,
so, like, the seniors will come in. They have an hour block where they get to come in, pick the
classes, and then so forth, and then 7th and 8th will be Wednesday, and then any kid sits.
We're working with kids who are gone. Understandably, that happens. That will help us to, like,
some of our classes that have a cap on them. Like, it's huge by seniority. It's just kind of the
way it goes in high school, and so that'll help with that. Mrs. Rasker and Lenny wouldn't
really liked how it worked, so I said, well, we're open to ideas, so that's what we're doing.
CPR classes, the coaches and the drivers, they'll do it September 14th, and I'm going to communicate
with them to make sure they're all on that and get that done, because with the new,
is that new, where the drivers have to all have that CPR certification.
And then FCCLA and JMG, I've been bringing this up because I've had, like, the state JMG
gentleman approach me. With Connie Leading, we don't have an advisor for either of those.
I'm going to bring it up if anyone's interested at PIR, but I'm also not really comfortable
forcing someone to do something they don't want to do. JMG only had three last year, so,
and that'll also be another thing. We'll see if the kids are really gung-ho about it or not
before we go forward. So, if you do hear, I know someone from the state of FCCLA reached out for
Rayleigh, because she had done that previously, but she came to me and said, didn't make me do this,
are you? I didn't know about it. I said, I'm not going to force you, but I'm holding that.
Too late. Too late, you're already talking. Yeah, I'm going to write over JMG and FCCLA, and
she's going to write choice words for me, but that will be, we'll see if anyone's interested
and can open it up. And then first day of school, next Tuesday, picture day is the 28th,
and then homecoming is September 3rd, 2016. I'll be a busy first three weeks.
Thank you.
Voluntary claims.
I move to approve claims numbered $19,191 to $19,223 dated the 13th of July,
24th to August 8th in the amount of $115,362.00. Second.
For the motion and the second, we have a discussion. What's all the backpacks?
So, yeah, we bought that. We, our fund 29 to 29 is basically for teacher retention teacher
back to the teachers. So, we try to come up with, we did a bag one year and there was
we did coat, we kind of did different things. And one of the other ladies at
Maslow said, who bought the backpacks? So, we're giving all staff backpacks. Everybody,
everybody, the entire staff of scope school is giving the backpacks. So, and then we're
having moonlight laser put below them. And then a little, moonlight laser works is putting a
patch on them and their names in the start and end. So, it's just kind of a, please
thank you guys for being here. It's great.
Any more discussion?
All in favor?
All right.
Activity accounts.
I'd like to approve, but so moved to approve. Second.
The motion and second to the discussion.
All in favor?
All right.
All right.
Five.
Moving on to action items.
Student appeal.
At this post session.
So, there is no motion on this.
We will move on to action item B.
Action item B, board policy updates.
Second reading, this is important.
Great. I will move to approve the second reading of the attached board policy.
I let them over again today.
And that's an extraordinary.
I'll sign it.
The motion and second.
Any more discussion?
Next one.
C, board policy update by 228 F1.
You want to test, too?
I approve the, excuse me.
I move to approve the second reading of the policies.
Five, two, two, eight, B1, five, two, two, one F1,
five, two, two, eight, F2 as presented.
Second.
Motion and second.
Any discussion on this?
What is the consequence of these guys not jumping through all these weeks?
If they get caught, and okay, let's say,
so what they're going to do is once you jump it,
once you have a CDL and you're a bus driver and you get thrown in this clearing house,
they will randomly call Mr. Hardy and say,
you need to have call your address, let's emery the route driver.
You need to go have her drug test.
And she has to show, I have to show up within an hour.
If I don't, they can try to school on the driver to send out the dollars.
So they can find it right there.
If you are in an accident and you're in a drug test,
they don't immediately have to be tested.
So it's kind of one of these.
It might be time to get some of our drivers here in an hour.
Yeah.
It's, I mean, chaps could be in Sydney with cattle.
It's tough to get people to want to drive.
I mean, we should toss some extra stuff on them to roll in line.
Well, they will.
They are.
They are.
They are number one.
That's endorsement.
But yeah, I've got one of our bus drivers.
What if they're on an activity trip?
Is it a five hour or maybe they're going to be cowards or what?
They could be in buildings with kids.
In drug testing buildings.
Yeah, that would be awesome.
You don't have to come here to that.
But you've got to load a bus, load a kid somewhere,
and you're going to have to go run them over to the clinic.
I mean that.
And right now, that basically applies to our just our route drivers.
They have that.
They have got a CDL to even get put in the carrying house.
So Mr. Hardy drives somebody to golf.
He doesn't even, he doesn't even, he doesn't even interact with them.
I guess there's nothing to do about it when there's a gun to your head, so.
So, any more discussion on that?
All in favor?
Aye.
Aye.
Action item B.
Superintendent Dodd.
I move to approve second reading of board policy.
Number 7320, urgency as presented.
Second.
Motion.
Is there any discussion?
Just don't do it.
I didn't do it.
I don't want to go by it anymore.
It's just that I can buy some tits.
No, I just plan on, it would be.
I'm still planning on bringing everything to you.
It'd just be like, I don't know, showing in his parts.
Like, we gotta get something fixed on us or whatever they go down.
Any more discussion on that?
All in favor?
Aye.
Moving on to updates.
To them, it's partner standard.
Yes, this comes from last year.
If you remember, we talked about it.
This became kind of an ordeal.
OPIME wants to come to our dances.
We talked about it as a board.
We said co-ops that basically co-ops with us,
that they can come as long as they have staff that work to chaperone.
I would encourage you to tip this money to,
for someone to discuss that cost money.
I know the OPIME people that we'd be happy to,
if you need extra money for a junior high dance,
you need somebody to purchase the soft drinks or something.
They wouldn't throw in money.
We have a motion to approve this.
And then you're also changing that to aid.
Yep, it's just because the creators can participate in high school sports now.
That's it.
I'd move to approve the recommended changes to the standards.
We're putting forward 20 large school years presented.
You know, I'm excited about that.
I have a motion on second.
If you have any discussion.
Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you for the co-op discussion.
All in favor?
Aye.
Aye.
Aye.
All right.
We're just a vote.
Oh, I hope you have your ideas.
I hope you're smart, please.
Well, each of us shows more convention.
But we're going to change.
Thank you.
Oh, well, trust me.
I never said that.
And I think I have F on that.
Yeah, I love that.
So I would like to go over a letter from you today.
Sorry.
No, no, no, no, no.
I never used an online mart to order a book.
It was our last year.
I just thought it was a good book.
I move to approve the quote for smart technologies
the amount of $4,213 for the purchase of the smart board as presented last week.
I have a motion to second.
Why am I missing something on the quote?
It says $8,298.
We approved one.
You guys approved the last one for Haley.
Nice.
So it's another one.
It's just an additional one.
So the actual quote, she just got me the quote,
eight grand for the two of us.
Look, we fell into that special.
Understood.
This thing's supposed to be amazing.
The smart board.
So you all know better.
Not really.
No, I have this.
How do you use one?
I use one in Bainville when I was student teaching
and it does like everything.
But my classroom has no technology in there
and it's hard to teach classes with no technology
in the day of age that we live in.
And I'm 23 and I don't believe in book work
because why are you going to take a class for fun with book work?
You're not.
But yeah, they're pretty great.
You can do a lot of hands-on interactive stuff
with your kids on them.
I didn't know they were eight grand though.
Oh, four.
That's two of them.
Oh, it's okay.
They're about the price of my toolbox then.
They were actually cheaper.
They're cheaper than they were 20 years ago.
Because I had one in my, you know,
cost more than $4,000.
Well, the technology was new then.
That's true.
Any more discussion on this one?
Did we have a motion in a second?
Yeah.
Any more discussion?
Oh, they were.
Hi, my colleague.
Oh, we are moving on to the workbench for the shot.
We'll approve the code from Home Depot
and the amount of $4,000 under $82.07
for the gear range toolbox and workbench as presented.
Okay.
We have a motion in a second.
Do we have any discussion?
I just wanted to note that
so when we did get a teacher to hire to the program,
we knew that needed tools and stuff.
I just called Scott West,
went up on the phone and said,
if you didn't say, Scott, do you have any possible grants
or anything like that that you could,
that would go to school?
He says, well, it's good timing
because Edison Lake just did the same kind of a thing
the other day and we bought him a whole bunch of stuff.
He says, make me a list.
So I just made him the list of stuff
and a couple of days later, I checked home.
So maybe when you get that,
get either Scott or Josh to come over and hit a picture.
So they cover the phone though?
That's great.
And some really nice screwdrivers and pliers,
gear wrenches like snap on, but not expensive.
Any more discussion?
So, Paul Pepper?
Hi.
Moving on to a walk behind Forest Rubber.
I moved to approve the vote
and bought case supply.
It came out of $4,769.
It's $75 cents per person to walk behind Forest Rubber
as presented.
Okay, we have a motion and a second to be having a discussion.
Is that the deal that they use on the gym floor?
No, this is a small one for classrooms.
Oh, okay.
So we got one for the high school,
that's the second with them getting their floor down.
So there's two involved locations.
Can I use them on the gym floor?
You wouldn't want to
because they're only three and a half gallon.
We got the big ride or the gym floor.
Only the other one he does on the house.
Yeah, he does on the gym floor.
Yes.
It's what the house does.
Yep.
Quad K takes care of you pretty good.
Yep.
Any more discussion?
Paul Pepper?
Hi.
Hi.
Moving on to contract payment services for $24.25.
I moved to contact Erica Regi for cleaning services for the $24.25 school year.
Second.
Motion and a second.
Do we have any discussion?
We're just dealing for pay owners and independent contractors.
Yep.
She's come in and she's got all the elementary bathrooms.
To be honest, we're going to maybe phase her out,
but I don't know if you've heard about Darryl.
He just had surgery, so he's going to be out for six weeks now.
Poor worker's cop.
So I talked to Erica.
She's going to see it again, so it'll help out.
And she does a lot of the job.
I mean, she's got two hours a day.
I've heard she's really good.
I'm just curious why our custodians can keep up.
Can we deduct this out of their pay?
If we have to hire somebody else to come in and do the cleaning lesson, that's their job.
You are correct.
Any more discussion?
Volunteer.
Hi.
Next one.
Personal recommendations.
I'm going to include 10 if I don't have a substitute list for the 24 or 25 school year.
Second.
Motion in a second to starting discussion.
Is anyone going to answer?
Well, we will.
That should be it.
There can be flat ground.
Well, she's already been in this.
No more discussion.
All right.
Next one.
We'll be bus drivers.
I move to hire Garrett back.
When Andrew Herschel a substitute route and activity bus driver for 24 to 25.
I second that.
Motion in a second.
We have any discussion?
I notice we gave her the background check.
And fingerprinting for tons of app.
Does that apply to drug alcohol and CPR tests and classes as well?
Or is that on their dime?
No, we've done that in the past.
We do.
Yep.
And we came for the CDLs for the bus drivers too.
For the other physical field.
True.
So they're these two can only take care of top on route yet?
Correct.
Correct.
Yep.
Unless they're in an expedition.
Yep.
No yellow bus.
Are they planning on trying to get there?
I don't know.
I think we're just hoping that we had some interest.
And we're just like if we get one out of four, that's better.
Then if I wanted to get three or four, I would just make one yellow bus trip to Glasgow too.
Yeah.
More discussion on this?
All in favor?
Aye.
Aye.
All right.
Now we have a room.
Activity director.
I would move to hire Lucas Knight as the Activity Director for the 24-25 school.
Second.
We have a motion and a second.
We have a discussion.
I really hope you hired him because I introduced him tonight to all of the...
No, I reached out to him after about 40 other phone calls and now I'm losing him.
You say what?
We're final on a lot of stuff on a new guy.
But he's young and ambitious, hopefully.
Waited for the last second to ask him.
He's very excited.
Yep.
I visited with him for a good chunk of time today instead of just arguing.
I mean, he's very excited.
I know as the AD, you have to work for administration.
Somebody has to go to all the activities and I know there's a lot to it.
But like, this guy's already made it correct, right?
Yes.
So he doesn't...
Who does that?
Larry did it last year.
That's like either on top of it, you're like always too seeming to hit.
So his first thing will be he'll go to an MI AAA meeting here about a month or something,
which is the AD organization at what point and they'll schedule like track
all and then start talking about next season.
And really your football and your basketball schedules are basically set by the state.
So they say you're going to play these teams on this week.
And then the AD's got to go to those schools and those meetings and pick every play on Friday,
Saturday and what time.
The hardest thing for him, I think, and the frustration of any AD, which I was honest with him,
is it's always schedule changes.
Yeah.
And you know that, right?
Everyone's got a JV or junior high to start, but then three weeks in and it gets failing
or hurts and all of a sudden everything changes.
That and finding workers to help.
So making sure the rest are here.
And make this job work for him.
I know it's all on him, but it could be an activity driver.
Well, I know I talked to Connie the other day and she said she wouldn't mind being kept on
as an activity driver when she's available.
If that comes up.
I need more discussion on the red.
Hi.
Hi.
Glad you're mental support.
I want to ask was if Mr. Hardy.
Last one would be activity drivers.
I got a bill on him for you guys.
Junior high football.
I'd like to give him some energy and I'll not help.
And then I plan is I'll go in and the first two or three years of practice help me to go in and then I'll phase out.
So let's go to the tournament on board with that.
Yeah, I think that would be it.
I would move to approve.
Gerald and Otto Virginia high football and Kristen and Kylie Virginia high volleyball 24 ball sports seasons.
I will second that.
Motion and a second to the other discussion.
All different.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
Now for activity drivers.
I'd move to approve the list of activity drivers for the 24-25 school year.
I've got a motion and a second.
Any discussion?
All in favor.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
Okay.
I did your budget books.
I apologize that I didn't get up to you guys sooner.
I probably did put tabs so if you don't have to dig around to where you're getting to go.
We met on last Thursday morning and kind of went through the line of budget.
We went to the OPCAD budget.
Highlights, I guess at this point.
The big thing is by doing the line of budget, I had to earmark somebody.
So I had to earmark one in case we could get a homemade teacher.
I did have to have a budget for everybody to add insurance.
I did budget for a pair of professionals.
We hope we're going to get.
I did budget another cook.
So there's a little bit of slush fun in there that we didn't plan on, but we have to plan for.
Ideally, if going forward, if we do set money that we switch the internet over, we wouldn't say.
It would be nice to earmark that for the roof, just in case the leader does a pass.
Worst case scenario, but didn't pass.
We would have that integral point that we could earmark for that.
So it heads up that it may be more than I thought it was going to be, but we have to plan for the worst.
So, but the book is basically just give a little bit about the school.
Our staff is young and old, I guess.
We're kind of on the two end of the spectrum.
Here is what it looks like.
And once and wrong, we have a great staff.
Kind of what everybody's making.
We could do a little bit of a highlight of what people are making this year,
as teachers and administrators and cooks and everybody else.
Our enrollment is staying steady, but I think we got two more.
So who knows where it's actually going to be when it's all said and done before school starts.
We could end up with 10 more kids by the time it's all said and done.
And we don't know.
So, yeah.
And then we got the school calendar.
So we know exactly what we're going to do.
We put a colorful one out there.
So that everybody can kind of submit.
Kind of how to be in the year and how much money to be spent.
We ended up spending our budget down when we were able to transfer $115,000 from the
general fund to the interlocal school this year.
It was more than I planned on, but we ended up having staffing issues that changed,
basically.
And so we're still able to buy all of our supplies and finish out if you're strong,
but then they'll literally need to transfer.
So it's nice to have that extra bit of slush funding there right now.
Kind of breaks down where our money was spent.
How much money goes towards what?
Obviously, it's going to spend just as huge as the whole parent formula.
The most amount of money.
When you look at the expenditure by type, teacher salaries are the biggest expenditure,
but that's just because there's more of them.
They have a bigger chunk of the money that they have there.
There's more of the time to pay for it.
And then I kind of did a recall or a review of the interlocal.
And what did we spend our money on?
A lot of it was spent on school supplies.
So let's get some of the different supplies that we had planned on that we were able to spend on.
And then the next thing is our fund summaries.
I can be an explanation of what every single fund is.
Every fund is budgeted, but only certain ones are having our required budget by OPI.
So the ones that we've had budgeted are the ones from the top.
One to 10, testification, best appreciation, tuition, retirement, adult end,
technology, flexibility, debt service, and building.
Those are the ones that we have to report.
OPI has our budgeted funds, but we have an actual budget in the middle.
The whole next section basically just tells you exactly what all these funds are and how we did,
where our money was going, how things changed, why we maybe didn't spend as much as we should have.
Could have, why don't you?
I gave you guys one in a budget so you know where the money is coming down to on every single fund.
And then the very end is what our OPI budget is.
I'll spend a little bit of time on this one.
And that is on page something or another.
I think it's right after the meeting.
So it's 216 and 216.
So we sat down and our, our taxable value went down.
So mills were more expensive.
Each dollar is more expensive.
It takes more than a lot of spending money.
So our mills went, our mill value went down, our taxable value went down by 300,000 dollars.
So our general fund, we went and voted and we were able to get 2,800,000 dollars.
We kept our full reserves and a full 10% of years.
So our mills were on 216.
The general fund, you don't have to hold up.
You just put in whatever you got and there we go.
Transportation, we weren't really sure what to do with.
I wasn't, I don't work budgeted last year.
My manager did last year on our transportation.
So our mills were higher.
I cut some of the brush that we had put in there that were, I put way too much money in,
let's say fuel.
We didn't need that much for fuel.
So we, we don't have to download it.
It's a month working.
So I had, when I first regenerated it, I regenerated it 341 mills.
I've generated 31023 mills and we visited and decided just in case we do end up with another
plus for ours.
Workspace scenario, you can always do a section in this one.
We told you not to, that $1,000 were in just in case.
And then we'll just be repropriated next year.
Transportation committee met in February or something like that.
And they made the decision to 100% fully depreciate our buses again for this year.
So we are front loading basically so that we can go again.
There's some buses.
Shawnee has to plan for a couple of buses and we need to replace.
Yep.
And they still driver is that plan and that just constantly in motion.
Yep.
Yeah.
So we did, we did fully appreciate our buses.
The nice thing about the bus appreciation fund is let's say we, we get too high.
We have too much money in there.
That way you can also be transferred.
Some of that can be transferred into your local if you want to, too.
And it won't, there's nothing to use to do that.
Our tuition, we don't, we make too much money from the state for our special ed.
So we, our tuition, when we ask for our tuition fund,
if we call time for them, we don't.
So I just, that's the cash balance in school year.
So we're doing that.
So we're going to do more of the tuition next year.
We'll be the year that we may have to, if we have any kids that live in O'Pime
and want to go to school, we have our kids who want to go to school somewhere else.
So let's say we had five kids that have been born to go to school in one point,
Poplar, Plainwood, whatever, then we would have to pay those schools
for them to attend school, but we won't budget for that to next spring.
Our retirement, it's just cents, built-in, thanks to Tammy.
She taught some classes, so we had to build everybody spent.
Technology, I added a full community this year just to build up our cash balance.
Both the school house IT is $31,095.
So between that, we only have 20,000 left to basically cover anything we may need.
We are doing all of our computer programs, technology, for sure.
Our flex fund, that's when we bought the Basque Act score.
That one's just kind of a dumb fund.
You can't budget for anything for it.
You have the budget that you can't actually ask for money from the state
or the county for anything at that point.
So there's no meals on that one.
Our building reserve, we asked for $100,000, which is our last year,
our last $100,000 that we can ask for.
We can also, we also get from the state, we qualify for $67,000 or a little,
right around $60,000, $7,000.
We, as a school, put in $25,000 and I'll put in $47,000.
So it's the professional commission money, so we're able to put more into that one.
And the last one is our debt service.
And we are down to the last 12 years in our debt service.
Thank goodness, sorry.
So our total meals went down by nine meals, our overall meals.
And I was kind of happy with that.
I didn't realize that was going to happen, but we could do things.
Our meals went down.
Say as a tax payer somehow.
Then we kind of did it.
The budget and the expenditure by fund, how much were our breakdowns for our expenditure by fund.
Part four is basically our 307 resolution that we had to do.
How do we do, where are we at, our close, our free close on that.
Our historical budget and meals, it shows that we've had up and down stuff and down
steps now on our meals.
So we just don't want to say the same tax for value.
So it's kind of a little all over the place.
Then we've got the historical budget report.
So that's where we expect our meals for the last few years.
And then the last part is basically just garbage.
Some of the technologies or terminology and funds are what funds.
And then some of the actors.
So thank you.
Thank you.
This looks nice.
Didn't let the family lay eyes on something.
Just nothing.
I have no idea.
If we have any questions, let me know.
This item.
I don't know.
And Kim, Kim and all over it.
Rattle it off the top of your head.
Yeah.
Sweep it down.
Yeah.
Thanks.
Cheers, Kylie.
Good job.
Thank you.
Did you get to be one of the one?
I don't know.
I might be enough.
I almost got a burp.
It's not this, the heavier than that, right?
This was Carson's first year of school.
It's good rich.
So, Kylie gave us a good summary.
And it's like the lead to make the motion.
Yeah.
I moved to adopt the fiscal year 2024 budget
and mills as presented and printed.
I second.
We have a motion and a second.
Do we have a discussion?
Can you explain the difference between the two
sample motions as they appear?
So, I don't have to reserve anything.
So, basically, what the reserve, the second motion
is basically saying that, yes, I'm going to reserve 10%.
There's certain, I look at the OCAT budget,
you're only allowed a certain portion.
I'm not, you can reserve.
Sure.
And what my reserves are, basically,
is my checking account from now until November.
So, that's really what it was.
I could put zero reserves and we could give everything
back to the taxpayers.
But then we're going to be in the negative
until November when the taxes come in.
Understood.
So, I can do more.
I can do less.
It's just that you're allowing me to reserve a full 10%.
And that's allowable.
And that transportation, I can reserve 20,
but we've never needed to.
We don't have that new bills from now until November.
And then the last one is, the retirement one
is allowing me to do whatever reserve I need for that one.
So.
Understood.
That's it.
Motion and second.
Any more discussion on that?
All favor?
Aye.
That is?
That is September 9th.
Okay, for everyone.
So, next.
So, anything else during this meeting?
September 9th works for me.
The kids do the 10th.
Do you want to explain last time?
It's just a big question mark around all of September.
You just say that.
My dad didn't go to the hospital when I was born.
He did this harvest the whole day at my aunt's.
He didn't know I weren't killing animals for supper.
Meeting is adjourned.
Yes.
